The Leica IIIa… at it again

Had a stroll in town today and brought back some photographs. This time the Summitar 50mm f:2 and a roll of Fomapan 400 came along. I definitely begin to like those Fomapan films!

And by the way, I’m slowly adapting to that squinty viewfinder. At least the framing is not too bad (not too many crops) and I manage to get the horizon quite straight, something I failed at with digital cameras and artificial horizons in the finder.. strange. A walk with my Leica IIIa

160721 - Kodak Tri-X - Leica IIIa - 024
Into the light

Took a walk this morning with my Leica IIIa and the Jupiter 8 I just got off eBay – for once a nice surprise from a russian seller. An utterly nice lens without any flaws (apart from those inherent to these lenses). Continue reading “A walk with my Leica IIIa”

Leica IIIa, first real images….

I finally came around to developing the first film that were not only test images for my Leica IIIa.

All shot on Fomapan 100, a film I’m not sure I like, really. Too bad, as it’s real cheap….

The lens I used is my Summitar 50mm f:2.0, slightly hazy and with a nice scratch on the front lens. Anyways, it produces nice pictures I think, and has a fine swirly bokeh as seen here:160527 - Fomapan 100 - Leica IIIa - 011
